TTN Announces Formalization of Core Values
TTN is definitely on the move! Our Strategic Planning Committees continue to drive us toward our vision to be the premier national organization for women over 50 in transition. Part of the process in developing a strategic plan is to clarify and explicitly express the organization's essence. The Communications & Values Committee undertook this task and developed a process to create the core values for The Transition Network.

Women's Voices for Change Profiles The Transition Network
“We’re not our mothers; we’re never going to be our mothers,” Susan Collins says. “And so we need to be around people who can help us do it differently.”

By “it” she means staying engaged in the world. Ours is the first generation of women to achieve widespread corporate success. We have the good health, worldly competence, savvy, and self-assurance born of achievement that will let us savor our fifties, sixties, and seventies in a way our mothers couldn’t.

Still, “50 and forward” means many changes that surprise and confuse—and plenty of transitions to be dealt with. TTN is a community of professional women 50 and up, and therefore each member is going through a different kind of “what’s next?” transition: children leaving home; elderly parents coming back; testing the practicality of changing careers; retirement; being widowed; being newly remarried; navigating the single life as a mature woman. The people who can help us through this uncharted terrain, Susan declares, are the women of TTN.

Tapping the Self-Reliant Power of Older Women. Are You Ready?
“Come and get fired up,” says Barbara Hoenig, TTN Board member and chair of ASA’s Business Forum on Aging. Barbara is referring to BFA’s 2014 Summit on Older Women which will be held at the 2014 American Society on Aging (ASA)Conference in San Diego on Wednesday, March 12th. TTN is Building a New Foundation
After thirteen years of organic growth, the Board of Directors has undertaken the task of creating a new foundation for The Transition Network. Under the leadership of Ellen Bartoldus, President of the Board, members are working in five key areas to strengthen the organization and position it for future growth.

Congratulations to "The Originals" on Their 10th Anniversary!
Ten years ago, "The Originals" came together for the first time as a new peer group in what would become the highly successful Long Island Chapter. Tonight they will celebrate their successful journey.
