Tapping the Self-Reliant Power of Older Women. Are You Ready?

December 19, 2013

“Come and get fired up,” says Barbara Hoenig, TTN Board member and chair of ASA’s Business Forum on Aging.  Barbara is referring to BFA’s 2014 Summit on Older Women which will be held at the 2014 American Society on Aging (ASA)Conference in San Diego on Wednesday, March 12th. Barbara extends special appreciation to CVS Caremark, a sponsor of the Summit.

The 60th anniversary Summit, “Tapping the Self-Reliant Power of Older Women,” will feature the latest knowledge and insights on women as influencers and consumers from keynoters Maddy Dychtwald, the co-founder of Age Wave, and Marcie Pitt-Catsouphes, PhD, Director of the Sloan Center on Aging & Work at Boston College.

At the BFA Summit, join some of the nation’s top thought leaders at a half-day program for business leaders, long-term care services and support professionals, AAA’s and state aging organizations, policy makers, advocates, and academics.  “We want to get a holistic portrayal of the active older woman – considering her future income needs and the options for funding her later years,” Barbara says.

Get further insights on the future of older women's health from Yanira Cruz, PhD, President and CEO of the National Hispanic Council on Aging.  And hear first-hand from Marci Albohar, author of “The Encore Career Handbook: How to Make a Living and a Difference in the Second Half of Life.”

Attendees will learn about maintaining a healthy lifestyle and managing chronic health conditions.  Keeping ahead of the learning curve, they will find out about current business marketing and pricing trends that reflect an understanding of the older woman as a customer and consumer.
