Are you curious about the beautiful iconic Philadelphia building at 13th and Market Streets that used to be home to the Wanamaker Department Store? Built by John Wanamaker, it was the first American department store and is home to the largest operating musical instrument in the world! Whether you grew up in Philadelphia or are just curious to learn about this amazing architectural beauty, you will enjoy discovering this special building and what makes it such a Philadelphia treasure! Take a trip down memory lane to discover the story behind the man who reinvented retailing in the 19th century and created some of the city’s most cherished traditions.
Our presenter, Debbi Harris, is an experienced workshop facilitator known for delivering interactive presentations. Prior to retiring in 2020, she worked in the career coaching field helping others navigate career transition. She has presented programs at PA Career Link, Temple University Alumni Association, Philadelphia International Airport, and other local organizations.
Debbi earned a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and a Graduate Certificate in Training and Organizational Development from Temple University. She is a member of the TTN Architecture SIG Group, and a native Philadelphian.
