Start the New Year with a new perspective!

Mindfulness provides powerful skills for coping with stress and for personal growth.

Learn about the benefits of mindfulness practices on physical health, cognition, and general well-being, and experience for yourself a sampling of short mindfulness exercises! 

Walking Meditation

The class is designed for both beginners, and those who want to add to a personal practice of mindfulness.
A special focus will be on integrating mindfulness into our lives- learning to pay attention, moment by moment.

About the Teacher 
Lucia McBee, LCSW, MPH, CYI

Lucia has taught MBSR and Mindful Yoga since 1994 to a wide variety of populations. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, she has extensive experience in integrating mindfulness and integrative modalities into a clinical practice. She has master’s degrees in both Social Work and Public Health from Columbia University. She participated in professional training in Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction in 1994 and the first MBSR Teacher Development Intensive at the Center for Mindfulness in 1997. She also completed training in in Mind/Body/Spirit Medicine at the Center for Mind/Body Medicine in 2000, and in 2008, Lucia became a certified Kripalu yoga teacher. Lucia is currently a freelance author, teacher and consultant who regularly publishes and teaches nationally on mindfulness. 

As a clinician, Lucia worked for over 25 years with elders, high risk populations, and persons with chronic conditions as well as their caregivers in a wide range of community, research, and institutional settings. She developed a pioneering practice using mindfulness as well as other complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) modalities to improve the quality of life in community, hospital, clinic and nursing home settings.
