Ever think to yourself, “I wish I were more creative” or “Me, creative? I’m just a business person (or a doctor or a fill in the blank)”. I don’t have a creative bone in my body.” If so, Reigniting Your Creativity might be right for you.
Creativity is often relegated to pursuits that are artistic, such as writing, music or art. Yet creativity is something that we’re all born with, and it’s a skill that you develop and hone over time. Simply put, creativity is finding new perspectives to create new possibilities and solutions. Creativity can be applied to all aspects of your life, and research shows that creativity increases personal happiness, improves mental health, boosts your immune system and actually makes you smarter.
TTN Chicago is offering a 12-session workshop that is designed to help you recover and reignite your creativity. We will use the acclaimed book The Artist’s Way by Julia Cameron and meet twice a month on Mondays via Zoom from 5-6 pm CST. This event repeats every 2 weeks, register only once for all 12 sessions and save to your calendar. Please note, this program is free to members. Registered guests of members may attend first 3 sessions at no charge, but will be asked to join TTN after the 3rd session.
Mary Lee Gosz and Dorothy Balabanos will serve as facilitators of this TTN Creative Cluster and guide us through this exploration of your own creativity. You will be writing morning pages, going on artist dates and completing Artist’s Way tasks. Cameron says, “Creative clusters, where we gather as peers to develop our strength, are best regarded as tribal gatherings, where creative beings rise, celebrate and actualize the creative power that runs through us all.”
You must attend the introductory session on January 18, where we will review the format, basic tools, guidelines, assignments and expectations. The 12 session program begins on February 1 and continues into early July. Register and/or contact Mary Lee Gosz (firstname.lastname@example.org) with any questions. Important: Please purchase The Artist’s Way in advance of our first session.
