Philadelphia Chapter Event: Evidence-Based Strategies for Coping and Building Resilience During These Unprecedented Times

Friday, January 22, 2021, 12‑1:30pm EST
Location: Online via Zoom
Contact: Marsha Yankelev

Need a little extra inspiration and tools to weather the start of 2021 and promote your own well-being?

Managing stress during these unprecedented times is challenging.  Just when we were starting to figure out how to live within the confines of the pandemic, cases are rising exponentially and continue to change the way we live.  Instead of primarily focusing on reducing stress, we can aspire to promote and maintain well-being and build resilience.

With empathy and good humor, Dr. Francine Broder, Clinical Psychologist from the Beck Institute for Cognitive Behavior Therapy, will present and discuss evidence-based strategies in recognizing and modifying our own unhelpful thinking, and taking valued action in the service of building resilience.

In addition to a full presentation by our speaker, this webinar will include tools for self-reflection and ample time for Q&A.

About our Speaker:

Francine Broder, PsyD is a licensed clinical psychologist on staff at Beck Institute.  In addition to treating adults with a wide-range of mental health problems, Dr. Broder gives workshops in Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) for treatment of depression, suicide prevention and disordered eating.  Dr. Broder earned her doctorate in clinical psychology from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine where she was the recipient of the award for Advocacy, Leadership and Service. During her doctoral studies, she focused her research on predictors of weight loss following bariatric surgery.  Dr. Broder completed her pre-doctoral internship at the Philadelphia Veterans Affairs Medical Center and a post-doctoral residency at Beck Institute.  She is the current Chair of an Integrated Health Committee of the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery.  Dr. Broder conducts individual and group consultation and supervision  for clinicians interested in improving their skills in CBT and has published in the field of eating disorders, and other clinical topics in applied psychology.

Dr. Broder is a wise and thoughtful speaker, and attendees at her workshops and talks remark on her warmth and kindness.
