Boston Chapter Event: Friday Morning Coffee Hour - Women's Suffrage Trail

Organized by the the Boston Women’s Heritage Trail, this virtual tour honors the women who played a part in the decades-long quest for equality at the ballot box. The tour features fascinating and little-known facts about the suffrage movement in Boston, including the arrest of 19 women as a who demonstrated for suffrage in 1919. Join us to learn more about the women, events, and places that were important in the movement, as well as the ways the suffragists have been memorialized in Boston.

After the virtual tour, women who live in or near Boston may want use the online map to visit some of the outdoor sites.

The tour will be lead by Mary Smoyer, a retired teacher who has been with the Boston Women’s Heritage Trail for 30 years. She led a led a popular walking tour of other women’s history sites last fall for the Boston TTN chapter.
