Branch Brook Park in Newark has the largest collection of cherry blossom trees in the U.S.
The Essex County Park System is celebrating its 125th anniversary this year. Branch Brook Park’s cherry blossom trees are world famous and people come from all over the world to see them. Join your TTN friends on a 45-minute guided bus tour under a canopy of cherry blossoms, pointing out the history hidden within Branch Brook Park’s structure and design! We'll take some time afterwards for pictures and a walk under the blossoms.
The bus tours leave from the Cherry Blossom Welcome Center located east of Branch Brook Park Drive between Mill Street (Belleville) and Heller Parkway (Newark). If arriving from Heller Parkway, enter the parking lot on the right just after you pass under the bridge. Please meet at the Cherry Blossom Center at 10:50 am to get your ticket from Donna Ward. Tickets are non-refundable. Bus is not wheelchair accessible. The tours will take place rain or shine.
LUNCH! Join us for an optional lunch after tour ends at Spanish Manor, for Portugese and Spanish fare. The restaurant is a 10 minute walk from the Cherry Blossom Welcome Center where the tour ends. Those who are interested in having lunch, please contact Donna Ward at email@example.com by April 12 to be added to list for lunch reservations.
