When the weather gets colder in New Jersey, Giraffes go inside to keep warm....
and only a few lucky people get to join them and learn more, face to face, with a Giraffe Keeper leading the event. You don’t want to miss this special opportunity! This program is rarely offered to the public and is much more expensive without The Transition Network discount.
The Turtle Back Zoo in West Orange, New Jersey is part of the South Mountain Recreation Complex and has been voted the #1 zoo in the state. Situated on 20 acres, the zoo has over 200 different types of animals on display from all around the world.
The price includes admission to the zoo, so any participants are free to enjoy the zoo after our time with the Giraffes, or even before the program, as time permits. The zoo closes at 4:30pm.
Important Accessiblity Note:  All participants must be able to climb a flight of stairs.  Giraffes are tall and we're meeting them face to face from a second story balcony.

Meet at the Zoo by 1:30pm; the Giraffe tour will start at 2pm.
There will be an optional pre-program lunch at 11:45am at
9 Cherry Lane,West Orange, a lovely restaurant near the zoo with views of the reservoir, that is also part of the South Mountain Recreation Complex.  If you wish to join us for lunch, please bring cash as we will be splitting the bill between those who attend.
The cost for lunch is NOT included in the $35 fee.

Please contact Leslie Paparone and let her know if you plan on coming to lunch so that she can make a reservation.  Registration is limited to the first 15 people, so sign up early!
