The gift of long term friendship
I have been reflecting on the aging process and what it means to me. I am a psychologist, life coach and psychotherapist, and in my role as a professional I have studied the changes that occur as we age. Despite widespread anxiety in our culture about potential losses that people associate with aging, there are so many positive things can only happen with the advent of maturity.

The trouble with New Year Resolutions
New Year’s resolutions. Most of us make them, but few of us keep them. In a 2007 study of 3000 people who made New Year’s resolutions, Richard Wiseman found that although the majority of subjects expected to keep their New Year’s resolutions when the study began, one year later only 12% had succeeded in following through and sustaining the changes.

"Gratitude is Good"

“I’ll do the dishes when I get back,” I told my husband as I rushed out the door for my next event. I had hosted my book group’s Christmas gathering, putting out my best china, glasses, and brassware. What good are pretty dishes if you don’t use them? But they all had to be washed by hand and I was already late.
