Appreciation for our Contributors

The Giving Circle recognized our contributors who fuel the Power of Our Collective Giving at a contributor appreciation event on March 5th at the William Penn House.

Continuity matters. A key moment included Giving Circle founding member Mary Klein’s recognition of the 31 women who have been contributors for 5 years and over.  We are especially grateful to this group of dedicated women, whose ongoing commitment fuels the impact of our Giving Circle, providing a solid base to grow the power of our collective giving.

Two of our past grantees updated us on their progress based on our support of their missions. It was also very gratifying to learn that both grantees indicated that our grant served as a catalyst to garner additional funding from other organizations.
Lauren Willis from Turning Points YVLifeSet our 2018 grantee, informed us of their plans for the coming year, specifically as it relates to housing needs for those aging out of foster care.
Janine Dunlap, Esq. from the PA SeniorLaw Center, our 2019 grantee, provided insights into the growing crisis of kinship care, fueled in great part by the opioid epidemic and their organization’s work bringing stability and comfort to children affected.
Longtime Giving Circle member Susan Vineberg presented a special TTN Giving Circle grant, The Stephen Vineberg Fund, created to honor her husband. Aligned to Stephen’s support of STEM, this one-time grant was made to Susan Glassman of the Wagner Free Institute of Science. We learned of the Institute’s plans to foster science learning through the GeoKids Outreach program. Susan is also coordinating a special trip to the Wagner Institute currently scheduled for May (please stay connected to TTN for updates).

The commitment and partnership of Giving Circle contributors are what makes this group so special. Let us continue our work together to bringing needed changes to our Philadelphia communities through the Power of Collective Giving!
