Get Connected October(Posted October 5, 2021)
On October 5th, seven members gathered to discuss the topic “How do you sell unwanted items? Facebook Marketplace, Craigslist or others?” As expected, a lively conversation ensued as members shared their experiences selling and purchasing items as well as donating rather than selling unwanted items.
Craigslist and Facebook Marketplace were by far the most common with Ebay mentioned as an option for some smaller items due to the greater geographic reach of this platform. For donations, members mentioned Goodwill, the Habitat for Humanity ReStore, as well as a 'FREE' sign placed on items at the end of the driveway. Pat Burgraff mentioned the Assistance League Thrift Shop located at 6416 Penn Avenue South. The Thrift Shop sells clothing, books, shoes, handbags and household goods in order to generate revenue for the philanthropic programs of Assistance League which are to feed and clothe children, enhance and enrich education and serve our community.
