TTN REVIEWS MOVIES IN DECEMBER!!
(Posted December 11, 2019)The Irishman – The story of mobsters and Jimmy Hoffa in the late 50’s, 60’s and 70’s. “far too long” – Interesting some watched on Netflix, some in theatre, may have impacted view of film somewhat – good acting (some thought “great”)- great music – reactions to film generally mixed -wonder if Scorsese was right that Hoffa was cremated

Motherless Brooklyn – Some thought it was a “great film”, Edward Norton’s performance “outstanding”, a “film about great decency and loyalty”
9 -1
Marriage Story – a “moving film” – struck a deep and familiar cord for many of us – two people who appear to love each other but can’t live together – the lawyers who complicate matters and the child pulled in two directions. – “well-acted” and some interesting ways to tell the story. It was hard to concentrate on the finer points of the film (as a film) when the story being told was so compelling.
