TTN at the Movies in March!!(Posted March 20, 2019)
The movie was really well-received by the group – the acting was wonderful (particularly since cast had to learn the language of Malawi) – Filmed in Malawi – the presentation/scenery was realistic and sometimes hard to take, all were impressed by what young William was able to accomplish given what he had to work with. On the negative - it was a bit long on the opening side and a bit too sanitized and quick at the back end.

Since we were short on current films, we shared some of our all-time favorites – great range from sci-fi (Star Wars or others with Close Encounters, 2001 A Space Odyssey); to the fans of any version of Pride & Prejudice, to tear jerkers (Imitation of Life, An Affair to Remember), Gone With the Wind (maybe difficult to appreciate now), Tequila Sunrise, Moonstruck, Dr. Zhivago (let’s hear it for Omar Sheriff), Woody Allen (Annie Hall to Midnight in Paris) and who could forget The Wizard of Oz and The Sound of Music. It was great fun!
